Savin' Katy

by Templeton Thompson/Sam Gay/Porter Howell

Everybody knew that her Daddy had problems
They talked about it all over town
Her mom spent her time tryin’ to solve’em
Nobody thought much about
Savin’ Katy
Katy was bright in the eyes of her teachers
But somethin’ was missin’ inside
They did what they could but they couldn’t quite reach her
You can’t say that they never tried
Savin’ Katy
Savin’ Katy

She tried to be married
Till the world she carried
Went spiralin’ out of control
She got down on her knees
Prayin’ God, you got to help me
I can’t do this all on my own

Katherine woke up to a little girl screamin’
From somewhere deep down inside
Right then she knew just what she’d always needed
She’ll spend the rest of her life
Savin’ Katy
Savin’ Katy
Savin’ Katy
She’s Savin’ Katy
Savin’ Katy
